Always Running by Luis J. Rodriguez

Always Running by Luis J. Rodriguez is a very good book. If you like violence and gang related things then Always Running is the perfect book for you. If you don't like any of these things then this book is not for you. This book is about a kid who has had a bad life since he was a small child. He would hide from his brother because his brother would take his anger out on him. So to solve his problems he made up his mind to join a gang and his life has been better for him. I recommend this book because it's a book about the life of a boy who has been so bad and now he's trying to make it better by doing bad things. In the beginning we learned the main character has had a bad life because when he was small his brother, Rano, would take his anger out on him. He would tie a rope around his neck and pull him and his neck would be burned. Another time his brother almost killed him because he was choking him. When he was growing up, he joined a gang named the Independents and throughout his life bad things happened to him. In the middle of the story, he is kicked out of his house because his parents knew he stole from a store and almost got shot. Always Running is an interesting book in the beginning but at the end, the book gets boring because no more violence goes on and all the gang things stop because of him. But something unexpected happens at the end of the story. Two guys in black walk up to him when he is at a Quincianera party. He was outside and they asked him if he was Chino from Lomas and he said yes so they told him he was going to die. So if you want to know if Luis got killed then you have to read this book. My opinion of this book is that it's a good book because there's a lot of action like fights and some bad words in Spanish. Also, this book is sad at the same time because in the book, white people don't like Mexicans so they do bad things to him and his family especially to his brother Rano. I recommend this book to people who like to read books with action. This book needs to be read by someone who is mature and can handle it. There are some parts that are inappropriate. I give this book a 10/10 even though it gets boring at the end.
