I liked the book I read because I found the story to be very interesting. The book was called "You: Journey to the Center of Your Worth" by Ed Young. Since it was a "finding yourself" type of story it was like a psychology book to me. I’m interested in psychological things so I guess all of this just connected with my interests.
I guess others should read it because it is going to help them figure out issues about themselves. I think this book can help others, who do not know who they are, to find themselves.

The Shack By: William Young
I really enjoyed The Shack because it was really mysterious and you could never predict what was going to happen next. As I was reading, I really never got bored and that is unusual for me because I am not an avid reader.
I strongly suggest this book to people who do not really understand religion. I am Catholic but I do not attend church at all. I do believe in God but I would not say I have a relationship with Him. This book made my understanding of religion so much clearer and I actually liked it. I would also suggest it to people who like sad books with happy endings; you would not be disappointed.

What Is The Gospel? by Greg Gilbert
What is the Gospel? is a nonfiction factual book. If you like learning both sides of controversial topics, then this book is for you. It talks about Christians' perception of the Gospel and it shows how non-Christians view it as well. There are many facts and chapters full of information in this book and that sometimes slows it down a bit but it is uniquely written nonetheless.
Greg Gilbert also writes about what the Kingdom of God is and the differences between what people think it is. This enables you to draw an illustration of all sides as to how the Kingdom of God is portrayed. No matter your religion, if you like learning about other religions and beliefs, then this book is for you.

Breaking Open the Head by Daniel Pinchbeck
I liked this book because it had stories about a man from America who lived the regular life in which we all live. But he changes his life by going to other countries to experience a lifestyle that is completely different from our reality. He experiments with psychedelics that are known and used by many tribes and many religions as a super conscious entity. These psychedelics let you see life with your spirit. He earns lots of philosophy and lots of life lessons. I think most people would like this because it’s not like most other books. There are a lot of facts in this book and reading it was its own experience.

Staying Pure by Stephanie Perry Moore
Payton Skky has everything a high school senior could want. She is popular, gets excellent grades and her parents are wealthy. Payton is also part of the cheerleading squad. Most importantly, she is a Christian. Payton goes with a boy named Dakari Graham. Dakari is one of the most looked at boys at Laney High School. He is the captain of the football team and he plays basketball. Payton and Dakari have really strong feelings for each other but Dakari wants to have sex with Payton. Payton is struggling between keeping her commitment with God and having sex with Dakari. Payton has three good friends who are there for her throughout the novel. They are Rain, Dymond and Lynzi. Each of them has relationships of their own. Lynzi goes out with a guy named Bam. Bam ended up cheating on Lynzi with Starr’s cousin. But it’s a good thing they ended up getting back together because Lynzi thought she was pregnant but thank God she wasn't. Because Dakari wants sex, he ends up cheating on Payton with this girl named Starr. Starr is a pretty girl on the outside but her heart isn't right. Later on, Payton ends up falling for a guy named Tad Taylor. Tad is fine; he has chocolate skin with beautiful brown eyes and he is tall and most importantly, a Christian. Tad and Payton connect spiritually but also emotionally. They both want to go to the University of Georgia. They serve God in their relationship by staying pure. Tad ends up escorting Payton at the cotillion. But drama comes when Starr tries to get with Tad. And by assuming the worst, Payton and Tad break up. By the grace of God Payton and Tad work things out in their relationship and get back together. I liked this book because a lot of young girls are struggling with this issue of staying pure. And this book is really a reality of what we go through in our daily life with God. I could really relate to this book.

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
The novel, "The Five People You Meet in Heaven", by Mitch Albom is a very easy read. It takes you through the life and death of a simple man, Eddie. The story starts with the end of Eddie's life. After his death, Eddie goes to five different peoples' heavens, just to find out how he really affected others. In each heaven, Eddie learns a new lesson he didn't get the chance to learn during his time on earth. While in these strange heavens, Eddie has flashbacks to his past and he realizes the mistakes he made and how he could have learned his lessons earlier. This book is for those who are open-minded and have a creative imagination. It is a wonderfully written realistic fantasy, and I think many people will enjoy it.

Malcolm and The Cross by Louis A. Decaro,Jr.
This book is a very interesting and insightful one on Malcolm X's life. It talks about his life and his religion of Muslim which teaches you a lot of things you never thought about the religion. Such things as what he did and what his thoughts are on many subjects. If you would like to learn about Malcolm X's past and his religion this is a very good book to read because the book has a lot of things about him in it. It shows you what kind of man he grew up to be. It also teaches you who the people were who influenced him to become the great leader he became and how he helped out the world.

How to Live a Meaningful Life by the Dalai Lama
This book tells about the acts and practices of Buddhism and how this religion makes you live a more meaningful life. Most people think this religion may be pagan or shamanistic but to the contray, it is quite the oppposite. This is probably the most simple religion to practice because most of the work you do is peaceful meditation. I would recommend this book to anyone who is living a stressful life and needs a window through which to vent.
