The Lost Boy, Dave Pelzer
The Lost Boy by Dave Pelzer, was very interesting and highly emotional. It made me feel like I was the child in the story getting abused by his mother for no actual reason. In this novel, a child who refers to himself as a child called IT doesn't live a normal childhood life. He receives severe beatings from his mother and mistreatment I believe is very inhumane. Throughout the story, the child feels lost and confused, wondering why his mother started treating him without love as if he was an animal or nothing important to her. All he ever wanted was his mother's love and for her to say those three special words, "I love you". Yet the end of his mistreatment comes and he is taken away from his family by the government and is sent off to a couple's foster home to start a new beginning and to try to get through the tough memories of his childhood and his evil, heartless mother.
