Gil's All Fright Diner by A. Lee Martinez

The novel, Gil's All Fright Diner, is a 288 page novel published by Tor Books on June 27, 2006. This scientific fiction novel has a great deal of humor and it's a great book to read for fans of vampires, werewolves, zombies and many other kinds of characters. The book, written by A. Lee Martinez, is a story of two characters who stop at a diner after they become hungry while going wherever the road takes them. While they are in the middle of their meal, Duke realized with his senses something was outside and  approaching. It turned out to be a group of zombies. As they made their way inside by breaking through the glass door, Loretta ran in the back for her gun as Earl and Duke rip the living dead to shreds. Loretta thanked the two for letting her save her ammunition and gave them a proposition to make some money. They agreed to help her with her supernatural problems and find out where the ghouls and zombies are coming from in exchange for a place to stay and eat. After reading Gil's All Fright Diner, I was truly impressed with its wacky adventures and great humor. I think this book was one of the funniest I have ever read. It had incredible ideas sparked by the author that just amazed me, like the idea of the main characters. Throughout the entire book, Martinez just kept writing things nobody had written about before. Although there were some minor drawbacks to the writing, the book overall was remarkable. I really recommend this novel to anyone who is in the mood for a new kind of book or for someone who is a science fiction reader. This book has opened my mind to new styles of writing and this is a book that should be read by all.
