Playing without the Ball by Rich Wallace

I liked the book because it is about a high school student. His parents get divorced so he moves out on his own. To support himself he has to find a job, but he still wants to play his favorite sport, which is basketball. Jay actually finds a job, but it is in a bar and later one of his friends, Alan, invites Jay to play basketball on a church team. In order to enter the church team he has to go to church and he hates that. So the main character is Jay. Jay goes through a lot of adventure throghout the book and you can relate to Jay because he goes through what a typical teen-ager goes through.
