The house on Mango Street is a book that tells the story of Esperanza, a "chicana" girl. It starts when Esperanza moves into a crowded Latino neighborhood in Chicago and goes on to cover a changing year of her life in this neighborhood. I think it is a really good book. When I first saw it, I did not want to read it because I thought it was stupid or wasn't that interesting. When I started reading it, I thought it was easy to read and that it was descriptive. I got really into it and I wanted to know more and more. By the end I still wanted the story to not finish and to know what was going to happen next.
