This is an incredibly difficult, complicated read and I would recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed the Lord of the Ring series. But I suggest reading the series first in order to understand Tolkien's writing style and his focus on mystical creatures. This book is full of odd little creatures and is the story of the creation of Middle Earth. I warn you it has conflicting views with the creation of Earth but you should be open minded and not easily offended by these matters.
