Running With Scissors was a very enjoyable book. It keeps you interested because something exciting was always happening. The book was about a boy named Augusten growing up with a messed up life. His dad did not want him and his mom was psycho. His parents fought for most of his young life. They would go to a therapist to try and fix their marriage. Augusten’s mom ended up seeing the psychiatrist almost everyday, sometimes for hours each time. The therapist, Doctor Finch, has unusual ways of doing things and an unusual family as well, yet Augusten eventually ends up living with him. I would definitely recommend this book if you like reading books that you can’t put down. It revealed a different way of life.
