Trina and her brother Dan are told their cousin Zane is coming for a visit. But their dad shows them a new dummy he found in the trash outside. The dummy wears a tuxedo suit, a red bow, has black hair and blue eyes. Trina's dad names him "Smiley". When Zane was going to show Trina and Dan his pictures, someone took pictures of one of the old dummies, Rocky. When Trina's parents were having a party, someone smashed Zane's camera and wrecked the party. Trina and Dan went to the attic to find out who was doing all these crimes. When they see who it is, it's the new dummy Smiley, who tells them his name is Slappy. So to get rid of him they threw him down a well. But when that didn’t work they try reading the words again. But this wakes up the other dummies that attack Slappy and put him to sleep. In the morning Trina gives Slappy to Zane.
