The Freedom Writer’s Diary was written by 150 kids who lived in L.A. in the middle of the L.A riots. All these kids know is violence and hate. This book is a collection of their diaries and their journeys from no hope to a college education. The Freedom Writer’s Diary was a real eye opening book because as much as people think or say we live in a gang populated area, our town is nothing compared to the lives these kids went through. The Freedom Writer’s Diary was made into a movie last year. So, if you watched the movie and liked it, I completely recommend you read this book because, as always, the book has a ton more details than the movie.
