Money Hungry by Sharon G. Flake

This book is about a 13 year old girl named Raspberry who lives in the projects and likes to have money. She would do what ever she could to get money in a legal way. Raspberry would clean old people's houses, help her friend with odd jobs in his car wash and sell old candy and pencils in school to other students. One day Raspberry's mom found all her money in her bedroom dresser drawers and thought she stole it because the Granddad of one of her friends called to tell her Raspberry took money from his granddaughter. Raspberry's mom threw the money out the window and all the people outside got the money and left with it. The next day when Raspberry and her mom got home they found their house door open and nothing was there anymore. Raspberry told her mom the people who came to rob their house were looking for more money because of the money she threw out the window. They now had no where to live because they had no money either. Raspberry's mom wanted to live where Zora's dad lived because they lived in a safe place and she wanted to have a safe place for Raspberry to live.
