This book was about a girl named Aly who gets captured as a slave and sent to serve the Balitang family. When she gets there she uses her magical powers to protect the family and spy on their enemies. If Aly's true identity is revealed it could be her life at stake so she goes through the day pretending to be someone else and hopes she can keep her secret. In the end Aly has a big decision to make…go back to her family and her old lifestyle or stay with the Balitang's with whom she has become very close. What will she do?!
This was a fantasy book in which I'm usually not very interested but when I picked this one up I just couldn't put it down. It was so interesting. It has a little bit of everything mixed up in Aly's big journey. There's some action, romance, mystery and a lot of fantasy! It was a great read and I'm sure others would enjoy it as well.
