One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

This book is about a young woman, Stephanie Plum, who works for her cousin as a bounty hunter. She begins to work on a case where a cop shoots an unarmed man. It turns out she knows the cop who shot the man and Stephanie has only one week to bring him in to collect her money. When she comes face to face with the cop, he tells her his side of the story and how
he is innocent. She then spends the rest of the time trying to prove his innocence.
