A Child Called It by David Pelzer

I liked this book because it is a true story about the author's life and it kept me wanting to read. It was very heart breaking to read about a child going through all the pain that David did. It made me feel like I was living his life in a way because I got every detail of what happened and what was said exactly to the mother of David and personally to David. David was very brave to live his life everyday getting beaten and abused by his OWN mother. He finally stood up to her and won at her own game near the end of the book. I think other students would like this book because they can experience something that actually happened to a child and learn what it was like to wake up everyday knowing you were going to get beaten by your own mother.
